Locating your nearest Georgia DDS office is a piece of cake. All you have to do is consult the DDS website for a list of locations all throughout the state of Georgia. Not only can you find addresses and phone numbers to the offices near you, but you can also find out other valuable details, such as the hours of operation and the services each office offers. This is good to know before you visit a location so you don’t end up wasting time driving to a DDS office that doesn’t have what you need.
Making an Appointment at a Georgia DDS
It would be ideal to schedule an appointment at a DDS office ahead of time so you don’t waste an entire day dealing with long lines and busy crowds. Unfortunately, the state of Georgia only offers appointments for drivers license road tests.
Forms You’ll Need at the Georgia DDS
Whatever task you’re looking to accomplish, chances are good that you’ll be required to fill out a form in order to proceed. While most people fill these out in person when they visit a DDS office, it’s more practical to complete one ahead of time. In doing so, you’ll minimize the time you spend at the office and make things convenient for everybody involved. You can find any and all forms you need on the DDS website.
The Georgia Point System
Like other states, Georgia employs a point system to keep its drivers responsible and accountable for their actions on the road. Every time a driver gets a traffic violation, he or she will also receive anywhere from 2 to 6 points depending on severity of the infraction. If a driver receives 15 points in a 2-year period, he or she will automatically be suspended from driving privileges. For more information on the point system, refer to the DDS website.
Obtaining a Georgia Driving History Report
One way to prevent your drivers license from being suspended is to view your driving history report. In doing so, you can view the amount of points you may already have accrued, allowing you to know how close you may be to receiving a suspended license. You can order a copy of your driving history report in person or online; you can choose to view your driving history for the past 3 years, or for the past 7 years.
